austrailian party
October 28, 2008
hung out with the aussies this weekend. had a bit of a crazy night. fun with photography.
so we go by honest ed’s and see this kareoke place that lets you record a record for 10$, we decide to go check out futures bakery first since the place was open till 4am.
so we go back to that spot, and i have the worst conversation ever with the dude working the desk, i had to wait till his lady came out to tell me how it all worked. basically we get our own private room to sing in for an hour for 20$, and then another 10$ to get a recording of it haha. it was too good to be true. basically the most hilairious time ever.
got a lil angry singing “changes” by 2pac hah.
im sure the owners of this place thought we were crazy, screaming these songs, jumping off the walls. the dude came in on us 3 times, once to give us a chair and another time to give us the english songbook, cause more than half of the songs in the list were korean haha. i wanna go here for my birthday or something it was so much fun!
comeback kid + misery signals in toronto
October 26, 2008
my friends in comeback kid and misery signals were in town on friday for this ridiculous canada-wide tour with grave maker, outbreak, shai hulud and bane.
bane are still rad. they opened with the only song i wanted to hear and it was ridiculous. can we start again!
misery signals were rad. didn’t get to watch the set from the stage but it was still alright. new songs sounded great.
comeback kid were up next. i didnt take any pictures though. i wanted to move around a bit, and watch my buddy scott sing 2 songs for what will probably be the last time ever. scott was the original singer of comeback kid. he sang “all in a year” and “partners in crime” at the beginning of all in a year i got on stage pushed scott, jumped into the crowd and fell straight to the ground and now my back is fucked. fml.
oh well after that went to dees for hangs with everyone.
scott hates my camera
jason came and joined our table once the aussies left and brought along some cupcake enthusiasts. its funny how small the world can be, sheery, an edmonton native, knew tami and also knows benson. her cupcake technique was pretty mind blowing. i have no idea why no one i know has had this idea prior to this.
